VinylPlus Cables brings together organisations across the European PVC cable value chain to advance innovation, safety and circularity in cable systems. The platform builds on the work previously carried out under the PVC4Cables initiative of the European Council of Vinyl Manufacturers.
Operating within the VinylPlus® framework, VinylPlus Cables supports collaboration on technical performance, enhanced fire safety, responsible production and recycling of PVC cables used in buildings, energy systems, telecommunications and industrial applications.
Through dialogue, technical exchange and coordinated communication, the platform highlights the role of PVC cables in supporting reliable energy transmission, digital connectivity and modern infrastructure across Europe.

Our Vision
Safe, reliable and resource-efficient cable systems that support Europe’s energy transition, digital connectivity and modern infrastructure.
Our Mission
VinylPlus Cables brings together the European PVC cable value chain to support responsible production, enhanced fire safety, long service life and circular use of PVC cable systems. Building on the legacy of PVC4Cables, we contribute technical knowledge and dialogue to support informed decisions on cable technologies used in buildings, energy networks, telecommunications and industry across Europe.
Our Activities
VinylPlus Cables coordinates activities related to PVC cable systems across key application areas, including building installations, energy distribution, telecommunications, transport and industrial infrastructure.
Our work focuses on the following areas:
- Technical evidence and knowledge: Supporting and disseminating technical and scientific knowledge on the performance, safety and durability of PVC cable systems, including electrical insulation, fire behaviour, material performance and long service life.
- Fire safety and regulatory requirements: Contributing to discussions and technical work related to fire safety requirements and product performance, including developments under the Construction Products Regulation and relevant cable fire classification frameworks.
- Standards, testing and assessment: Engagement in standardisation activities, testing programmes and technical assessments relevant to PVC cable materials and cable systems, in cooperation with recognised institutes and stakeholders.
- Regulatory and policy monitoring: Monitoring and analysing regulatory and policy developments affecting PVC cables, including chemicals regulation, sustainability requirements and circular economy initiatives at European level.
- Stakeholder dialogue and communication: Facilitating dialogue and sharing information with policymakers, regulators, technical experts and value chain partners to support informed decision-making on cable technologies used in modern infrastructure.
