The new VinylPlus Progress Report 2026 confirms that 104,633 tonnes of PVC cable waste were recycled in 2025 within the VinylPlus framework.

This represents a notable increase from 92,478 tonnes in 2024, underlining the continued role of PVC cables in Europe’s circular economy.

The overall PVC recycling volume within the VinylPlus framework reached 765,972 tonnes in 2025, with cables remaining one of the key recycled PVC applications alongside window profiles, flooring, flexible PVC and pipes.

The result demonstrates the strength of established European collection and recycling value chains for PVC cables, even in a challenging market environment for the plastics and recycling sectors.

For VinylPlus Cables, the figures underline the importance of continued cooperation across the value chain to support collection, recycling, design-for-recycling and the uptake of recycled PVC in new applications.
